Sesame Street Turns 40

Ever since I learned Sesame Street was turning 40 this year, I've been teasing my sister who is older than Sesame Street. She's 41. But anyway . . .

How many of you watched the show as a kid and/or watched it with your children? Sesame Street is a classic and arguably the best program for kids ever imo.

I hate it; I hate it; I hate it. I wish they just spring forward thirty minutes next spring and then never worry about changing the flipping time again! It's an archaic custom we should have outgrowned years ago.

Well, here it is, November 1st. The holidays are quickly approaching. And I dread them. Every year, I seem to grow less and less fond of them. Of course, last year was really bad with my illness and the death of my maternal grandmother, so I don't think this year will be worse. Still, I'm not looking forward to the holidays this year.

Depressing Funks

Do you ever get in a depressing funk that makes you feel just out of whack? I've been in one for a few days now; I just can't seem to be happy with myself. It's my own fault, because I'm beating myself up for some bad decisions I've made.

Also, I've had some things go wrong that weren't my fault and my family sometimes drives me CRAZY.

Life is just so overwhelming sometimes.

Question about Ads

I need to know from you guys as I just discovered a place where I can tweak the board concerning ads. As this is ad free board....I notice when I am logged out I see ads but never when I am logged in. I want to make sure that everyone here who is logged in does NOT see ads...and if you do I need to know so I can tweak the settings to make sure you don't. So...can you guys let me know whether or not you see ads when you are logged in? Thanks in advance!

As many of you know..Facebook and Twitter as well as the usual variety of personal reasons have made most traditional message boards a thing of the past...even on zap2it the posts have dropped by 75%+...so here is what I want to know.

Are there people still interested in keeping this board running? I don't mind doing it but I need at least five or six people who are still interested as I pay to have the ad free board and I don't mind doing that either...so let me know if...

I used to have a long list of things I wanted to before I died. England, Germany, Paris, Prague, Canada. White water rafting, Hand Gliding, meet all the stars of Days, See Elvis in person, See Tom Jones in person, See Toby Keith in person...Well, have done all that..exception, Stephan Nckels (Sp?) and Stefano. So my list is pretty short now.

I want to jump out of a plane and go skiing...not at the same time of course. I doubt I'll ever ski, but would still like to pop on a...

The avatar is a picture of me and my four sisters taken on December 2nd 1967, just after my brother Victor was buried.
I am seated in the center, I was pregnant with my son Victor at the time, he was to be born exactly a week later to the day.
The sisters are from Left to right. Noreen, she is still alive. Sookie the youngest is 2nd. Kay, who I forgot to mention in the other post is next. She...

MY family

My Family once numbered 13, counting mother and daddy. The second baby died as an infant so most of us never knew him. 10 out of 11 if us grew to be adults. All but one of the adults had children of their own.
Junior, died in his early fifties, a lung burst and he bled to death from the mouth. He had two sons and one daughter his second son, Johnny, put a shot gun in his mouth and blew his brains out.
Victor, 3rd to last died next. He was in a car accident, damaged his brain and...

We're having more rain than we've gotten since records were kept. We're 6 hours from the ocean, so don't even get much rain from a hurricane. We don't have a big river to carry away the water. (Crazy place for a city, without much fresh water supply.)

Add to that, in the past 10 years we've been in a drought AND having explosive growth. We added a million and a half people, in a hilly area, so lots of Terra forming, cutting trees, leveling hills, paving,...
